Miss Lori has seventeen years experience with daycare/childcare. Ages newborn to age 13+. Currently available for live-out nanny services for your family in the Midland area in the evenings from 6pm to 1am
Light hearted, energetic and responsible.
Meals, snacks, activities are prepared and tidied. Age appropriate baking and cooking, crafts, reading and singing and dancing (oh my!), environmental awareness, and "home economic" learning.
Tutoring or "Play School" in Reading also available. (I use phonics, as I find it helps children learn faster than using only word recognition.), simple math understanding, and other home school activities. (aka: simple sciences, art, poetry.)
Attention to detail and care is always taken to have the childcare in your home run smoothly, according to your family's schedule and daily patterns.
I have cared for up to 8 children at once, with ages ranging from 1 to 10. (This was in my own home daycare.) And am well versed in caring for "2 under 2" happily and confidently.
Light to medium housekeeping duties also available while in your home. (bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, windows, dishes.) around your children's schedules and needs.
I do not believe in punishment. What I do believe in is discipline - which comes from the latin word "student" or "pupil". Discipline means to give life to learning. There is no need for yelling, no need for time outs when discipline is done with love. To explain to a child what is wrong without belittling them is important and gives them strength and responsibility. I have them do things like help clean up a spill, or help them understand gently why hitting others hurts, and give options for other things they can do to deal with the situation. In these actions, I treat the child with respect and I find giving them the responsibility makes a huge difference, and helps them to understand how NOT to act out again. This is how I handle challenges - with love and kindness and a sturdy and solid foundation of understanding.

4 days a week from 6am to 10pm, this day rotates according to a current contract I have.
7 days a week from 6pm to 1am.
Currently the available days are changing every week around a current daytime contract.
All Families Matter! Family 'make-up' of any size, number, or gender are never an issue. Families of all sorts deserve celebrating!
I do prefer to work in a home without dogs - only because I'm not terribly versed in training or handling them!
