Hi there!
My name is Meagan Brescacin and I am an experienced Early Childhood Educator. I’ve been working as a nanny for the better part of 8 years now. I’ve worked with each of my families until their children reached school age and my services were no longer needed.
I’m currently looking for a family that would allow me to bring my wonderfully spunky and bright 2 year old daughter along with me. I’ve been successfully nannying with my daughter since she was 9 months old and can assure you that bringing her along would a benefit (built-in buddy!) and would not take away from you and your family.
I have always been passionate about working with children and strive to offer the best care possible. Before nannying, I have worked in multiple daycares through college practicums and summers off until I graduated from the ECE program at Algonquin College.
I owned and operated a very successful home daycare in the Westboro/Hintonburg area before my husband and I purchased our first home in Orleans. I cared for 4 children (ages ranging from 14 months to 4 years) offering nutritional meals, educational activities and a safe, and nurturing environment for each child to learn and grow.
I believe each child is unique and that each child will reach their developmental milestones at their own pace - my goal is to help nurture and guide them alongside you, the parents, in helping your children reach their full potential. I believe in giving children (developmentally appropriate) choices and autonomy to help nurture a sense of independence and confidence. I use redirection and positive reinforcement as a tool to help guide children away from challenging behaviours and always try to communicate with them as much as possible the importance of being kind, patient, loving, etc.
Because my priority is your child, I offer light house keeping (I will always clean up after ourselves during the day, and whenever possible, I like to help tidy up other areas of the home, however, since your child is my top priority, extra tidying outside of our day-to-day messes is considered a bonus). I'm happy to bring your child to run the occasional errand or pick up a few groceries - sometimes we may make extra special trips for some fun ingredients for baking or a special sensory activity.
My hope is to find a family (or two - I'm open to doing another nanny share!) that I can form a real partnership with - I find the most successful care situations for any child is when there is a good foundation of mutual respect and understanding between parents and caregiver to help foster the best possible learning environment for your child.
I look forward to meeting you and your little ones!
