Over the past 10 years I have worked as a Childcare Provider caring for children ages 6 months to 7 years of age. I also hold a diploma in Contemporary Dance from ‘The School of Dance’ in Ottawa and have enjoyed performing both locally and nationally.
My approach to childcare is very loving and consistent. I feel that a consistent approach is essential to the well being of each child. This involves co-operation between both parents and myself when concerning such issues as discipline, nutrition, education and family values.
Physical activity is another important part of my daily routine with the children. I encourage families to enrol their children in activity classes such as swimming, music and gymnastics and enjoy participating with the children in these activities when possible.
Another very important activity I encourage is reading as well as taking trips to the local library. Story time is such a wonderful time to relax during a busy day. It is also a great time to teach children the basics of preschool teachings such as colours, shapes, numbers, letters, etc…
My weekly routine with the children consists of as much out door play as possible (even during the cold months as Winter is my favourite season), trips to the local parks, playgroups, libraries, museums, festivals and field trips.
Overall I feel I provide a loving and stimulating environment that is safe, educational and always fun.
Admission conditions
The wage expectation is based on an hourly rate for Nanny services. I am looking for $10-$12 an hour for 1-4 children. This could be for 1 to 4 families and I would work from one fmailies home. The daily wage would be shared between the families.
