Our Philosophy & Program
At Piggy Ooo’s Daycare Centre, we are a licensed group daycare with highly qualified Early Childhood Educators. Our centre strives for a happy, warm and comforting atmosphere for each child, regardless of his/her emotional, social, intellectual, creative and physical developmental stage. Every child at the centre has the opportunity to and is encouraged to explore their independence at his/her own pace.
- We believe teachers play an important role, we obverse closely, teach, encourage and guide children to become confident and independent.
- We believe teaching children responsibilities and manners through their actions are very important.
- We believe in provide positive encouragement for each child’s progress and respond with care and understanding, set limits for their behaviour and respond in a positive and consistent manner.
- We believe in working together with parents as a team and communicate openly and honestly to best serve the children’s needs and development.
We at Piggy Ooo’s believe children learn best through a play-based educational model. We have an integrated structured preschool program throughout the day.
Our Curriculum is Play-Based and will provide an Integrated Preschool Program with Experiences in:
- Pre-reading, listening, speaking and recognizing skills
- Development in colours, shapes, numbers and letters
- Art/crafts with a wide variety of hands-on materials for children to use their imagination
- Circle Time will consist of music and movement, storytelling and dramatization
- Nutrition, safety, health and exercise activities
- Science and social activities
Each month we will present new and exciting theme for the children to learn and explore.
Our monthly newsletter and calendar will inform families what will be happening at the centre and also anything different and exciting we may need to share.
We are lucky to have the option for families to have their children register in ice skating lessons at Canlan while attending daycare. There are special rates for the children of the centre. Please ask to inquire more about the skating details. We will gladly respond and make any arrangements for the lesson.
