Tiny Hoppers Summerside opened its doors on August 1, 2017, we are proud to be the first Tiny Hoppers in Western Canada! We pride ourselves on being an early learning centre that ensures quality child care to all families in a: safe, educational and fun environment. We offer a nurturing and caring atmosphere that supports children of all ages needs as well as offers peace of mind to families. Tiny Hoppers Summerside provides a setting where children learn and grow to reach their full potential. Our staff strives to focus on the children’s interests by planning activities that build on these observations as well as on the curriculum. At Tiny Hoppers, you know that your children are being cared for by kind, educated, and loving caregivers. Our programs aim to emphasize the individual and group interactions in hopes of everyone getting along in each room and having fun filled days! Daily routines at Tiny Hoppers are very structured and incorporate lots of singing and music, these elements help us transition children from one time of day to the other as well as support children as they move into new rooms and grow with our facility.
The Tiny Hoppers curriculum is based on the 4-Blocks Literacy Model. These fours blocks include Guided Reading, Self-Selected Reading, Writing and Working with Words. During a regular Hopper Day, the children are lead through a routine including daily passwords, morning messages, sign in centers, circle time learning bins and, attendance cards. Literacy is taught through a variety of carefully chosen games, songs and, activities that provide children with an active and fun learning experience.
All of our educational centers are carefully planned based on the interests of the children to provide them with an exciting hands-on learning experience that touch on activities in all areas of learning including math, science, literacy and, the arts. Hopper teachers are Registered Early Childhood Educators and must attend a yearly training course that is designed to teach them how to most effectively teach literacy to young children and how to best promote literacy in the classroom.
Our curriculum is play based which helps us to focus our learning activities on themes and activities that the children find most interesting. Teachers are encouraged to enhance their Emergent program with additional activities provided by Tiny Hoppers. At Tiny Hoppers, we work as a team to make sure that we provide the most exciting, energetic, and fun learning environment for your child.
Our 5500 square foot facility is bright, spacious and state of the art with a large play yard attached directly to our center. We offer full and daycare and Kinder/Out of School care and free Parent/Child Play classes. Our center will host special events such as Easter Parties, Christmas Concerts and Parent's Night/Day Out. All our daycare fees incudes 2 snacks and a lunch. Kinder/Out of School Care includes 1 afternoon snack. |

We do require a $250 deposit to hold a spot which goes towards your first month's fee. Spots are not held until a full registration package and deposit is received. We do encourage you to come for a tour to see what we are all about!
