We have 3 classrooms in total. 1 Infant Room, 1 Toddler Room, and 1 Preschool Room.
We have children with different age group in each of the classrooms.
o Infant (6 months to 17 months)
o Toddler (18 months to 29 months)
o Preschool (30 months to 3.8 years)
The ratios vary depending on the age of the children, as younger children require more hands-on care than older children.
o Infant Classroom: 1 Teacher for every 3 Children
o Toddler Classroom: 1 Teacher for every 5 Children
o Preschool Classroom: 1 Teacher for every 8 Children
Your child need on their first day of childcare at Little Champs Day Care is
o Indoor and outdoor shoes
o Water bottle
o Milk Bottle & Formula for Infants
o 1 Blankets for nap time
o 4 Full extra changes of clothes
o Diapers, wipes and diaper creams (if your child is not toilet trained)
Outdoor clothing for the season:
o Winter – full snowsuit, hat, 2 pairs of mittens, warm winter boots, scarf, extra socks
o Spring and Fall – light jacket, hat, rubber boots
o Summer – sun hat, closed shoes or sandals with a secure back strap (no flip flops – safety hazard)
We ensure that space is held for your child as they age out of their current classroom and transition into the older rooms.
We offer Part-time options for the Infant, Toddler and Preschool programs. We define part-time as either 2 or 3 full days for a set schedule of days per week (example: full days for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays). We also offer a half day option.
All our lunches and snacks are made fresh and on-site by a qualified cook. If your child has any allergies, intolerance’s or dietary restrictions please notify us during the registration process and we will do our best to accommodate your child’s individual needs.
Infant classroom has a fridge/freezer to be able to store milk and/ or breast milk so that the staff has quick access to it as your child needs it throughout the day.
Every classroom goes outside for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon, weather permitting.
What have secured security systems at Little Champs Day Care. At our main entrance on the front door we have a Fob Lock system where only registered individuals will have access to the building. All other individuals will be escorted on to the premises by a staff member. There are also Security Cameras throughout the center for an added level of safety and security.
At Little Champs we have a set time to take a nap for children. The Toddler and Preschool Classrooms each have a 2-hour nap/rest time where the lights are turned off and soothing music/ sounds play in the background to encourage a restful time.
The Infant classroom also set up so that nap time is provided for each child on an as needed basis.
We have transition week for new comers which help into separation anxiety. We encourage families to come for short visits beforehand so that the child and family feel comfortable in the new environment. All of the classrooms have qualified Registered Early Childhood Educators who will do their best to help with making your little one feel comfortable in their new classroom. If your child would like to bring in something from home as a comfort item to aid with their transition, they are able to. |
