We are a new Reggio preschool (12months to 4 years), in Leaside-Bennington. We are located inside Leaside United with a fully-fenced play space, surrounded by gardens for digging and planting, grass for rolling, a ground deck for playing, summer picnics, and exploring our nature. Visit us at tracemanes.ca
A Reggio curriculum uses the natural environment to nurture children's curiosities and questions as they being to understand the world around them. Please see the pictures attached for some projects our youngest children engage in.
It is with the vision that all children grow each day with a sense of confidence and pride, wondering and taking risks to make meaning about the world around them, that we designed and built our little Preschoolhouse.
Highly Trained Staff.
Staff are trained professionals and are certified, licensed teachers and Early Childhood Educators. Sue has over 15 years experience in early childhood classrooms in Toronto's school board.
We are uniquely located in Leaside close to Leaside Library, Trace Manes Park and community centre.
Prepared lunches organic soups, cheese, fruits and vegetables will keep young children energized for outdoor play, project investigations, and some focused literacy instruction with a specially licensed teacher. Then they will need to be well rested with a short nap only to re-energize for more investigating outdoors in nature.
There is no typical day at Trace Manes because each day should bring new understanding and learning.
We have been particularly careful in the selection of our toys and materials.
We proudly carry HABA and GRIMMS Waldorf toys that excel in quality, craftsmanship and safety where only non-toxic, water-based paints and lacquers are used.
We are especially happy about our eco-friendly classrooom because we know how many children suffer from allergies and environmental toxins. We have installed an air system with HEPA® filters which captures 99.97% of all dust and particles as small as 0.3 micron (1 human hair = 150 microns). They help reduce allergy symptoms, asthma, recurring colds and persistent coughs. In fact, HEPA filters are so effective, they’re used in hospital operating rooms.
We would be only too happy to share in your child's learning at the little preschool. |
