Our curriculum encourages children to learn through creativity, exploration, discovery and problem solving with hands on experiences. Children are encouraged and given opportunities to make choices and to move freely and independently from activity to activity.
Offering children choices helps them acquire independence, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility for their decisions. The children are offered tasks/activities that meet their needs to develop in the following areas: Social Skills, Cognitive Skills, Language Skills, Self-Help Skills and Motor Skills.
During free play all areas are open so children can choose from a variety of learning centres such as dramatic play, sensory table, carpet or table toys, cognitive activities and creative activities. The children are encouraged to play appropriately with toys and tidy before moving to another activity.
In addittion to the above mentioned activities each room's schedule includes a nutritious morning and afternoon snack time, healthy lunch, sleeptime and outdoor play.
Our philosphy regarding discipline includes preventative, positive learning-oriented approaches to the young child's behaviour.
