My goals are primarily, to provide the best childcare for your child(ren) in a safe and fun environment. I feel that the centre should be a place where all of the children feel comfortable, respected and competent beings.
I feel it is my job to be aware of each child’s individual development. I’m committed to facilitate the development of each child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual skills through a play-based environment.
I strongly believe in promoting a good self-image to the children and encouraging their self-esteem. It’s important for me to focus on many skills that help them to solve their own conflicts in a self-confident manner.
Children interact with materials based on their developmental stages and experience. Children are motivated by curiosity, spontaneity, humour and internal desire. The curriculum and activities will be geared to the age and developmental appropriateness of the group and individual child.
As a staff at Early Beginnings, I believe in providing appropriate and quality education for all children - that is why this centre takes an inclusive approach to early childhood education. This is a core value in my centre and the desire to plan activities and create an environment that allows for equal participation from all children, their families and the community. One of my goals is to promote diversity awareness and respect each child’s culture, through pictures, crafts and daily activities about different types of cultures. This interaction will allow them to accept and value each other’s differences. I want to promote cultural identity and contribute, through our cultural awareness and caring, an environment that supports the meaning, stability and security that culture brings to each child.
My belief about families is an open communication between the centre, teachers, and the parents as essential to providing high-quality care. As the teacher I will work hard to recognize and respond to, the unique influences that each family has upon a child’s life. The centre will also strive towards enhancing a families knowledge of the program through direct contact, phone calls, parent bulletins/newsletters, documentation panels, and parent/staff meetings. Developing a trusting relationship with each child and their family will become a goal I will work towards achieving. |
