New West Montessori Daycare is a licensed and registered daycare offering a preschool program and before and after school services.
I have been running my daycare in the same neighborhood for the last eight years. Before starting my own childcare center, I worked in several licensed preschools and daycares. I have a Montessori diploma from MTCBC, an Early Childhood Educator certificate, and a First Aid and CPR certificate.
I offer a program that encourages learning through exploration. The activities I provide to the children are carefully planned to promote their cognitive development while they have fun. I'm experienced in developing activities according to the particular needs of each child. My main focus is on developing better hand-eye coordination, language and math skills. Children who have been in my care have shown outstanding learning skills at elementary schools.
The daycare provides a multi-age setting, creating a group of children of diverse ages. I believe this creates a very supportive and natural social environment for all ages. While children have the opportunity to interact and socialize with children of their ages, I believe it also important to encourage interaction between different ages. At my daycare the older children are inspired to act as positive role models and develop their leadership skills. The younger children have older buddies whom they can look up to and learn from.
I have no more than eight children at one time, allowing me to give individual attention and flexibility according to the needs of each child, which would be difficult in a larger group setting.
My aim is to create a supportive learning environment for children where they can feel at home, and feel free to explore and express themselves.
