ABC Family Daycare has been in operation since 1993 Prior to operating a family dayycare, I was a middle school teacher for 13 years. I am licensed for 7 children, a member of Child Care Resource and Referral Program and regularly attend related workshops. I hold CPR and First Aid Certifications, Criminal Record Check passed, and always keep up to date with latest health standards.
Our Philosophy:
ABC Family Daycare philosophy is to provide quality care in a safe, healthy, warm and happy home environment. We are here to enhance the social, physical, intellectual and emotional development of each child. We are conveniently located in central North Vancouver, one block above the Upper Levels Highway. We are on the garden level of a bright and sunny spacious home, dedicated to the daycare.
Outside Play is important!
We have a huge outdoor area for the children to play in and around, which includes covered and uncovered areas for rain or shine. This area gets safety checked each time the children go out to play. Children need to 60 minutes per day of outdoor active play ( indoor active play is acceptable when weather is poor) And we have created this space for this reason. Please provide rain gear and winter gear.
Screen Use Policy:
Our screen time is limited to 30 minutes or less to children over 2 years of age. Under two years of age screen time is not offered.

Activities include:
Structured and un-structured indoor playtime, Hands-on crafts such as painting, cut and paste, Reading, learning about colours, money/shopping (Cashier Station) weather and holidays ( feel free to share your cultural holidays with us) outside play (covered and uncovered outdoor play area with jungle gym and cars/bikes for all ages, quiet time, baking, circle time, walks, field trips, story time, etc.
Meals:
ABC Family Daycare provides nutritious snacks ( all kinds of fruits and crackers as well as vegetables and raisins) and water. We don't provide juice due to hugh sugar content. Lunch program is available to parents who prefer lunch to be provided. Otherwise please pack a nutritious lunch daily. Please provide any indication to preferred snacks, allergies, chronic illnesses, cultural or religious preferences.
Hours of Operation:
We are proud to have early hours to accomodate parents schedules. Our hours are 730am - 500pm Monday to Friday.

Our Discipline Policy is as follows: Children are encouraged to verbalize their feelings. I emphasize co-operation and working/ talking problems out. Time outs are not in place here. Spanking, hitting, humiliating, and any negative experiences are NOT approved of at ABC Family Daycare.
Please share any food allergies or sensitivities as we strive for a safe environment for all our children.
Our admission policy is as follows:
Part time: One day per week, $90.00
Includes two healthy snacks.
2 and 3 days per week, $85.00
