Welcome to Little Mountaineers Children’s Centre. We offer a unique approach to childcare services and early learning by incorporating The Reggio Emilia philosophy. This internationally renowned curriculum is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment for children.
ENVIRONMENT:
We will aim to create an authentic, engaging and fun learning environment by using equipment and toys that are high quality, educational and made from natural wood products. Our facilities will boast an on-site chef, an art and dramatic play area, a block and construction room, sensorial play space, and two beautiful outdoor play areas including a jungle gym and sandbox.
RELATIONSHIP WITH FAMILIES:
We believe that by communicating openly with families and planning together, we can create a happy and rewarding environment for you and your child. We will do our best to communicate with you frequently and hope you will ask questions, offer ideas and make suggestions at any time. Parents are welcome to request a meeting with staff at any time.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT:
We encourage parents to become involved with program activities, where possible. This may include assisting with field trips, special events, and family socials as a way to build a sense of community among families, as well as to share skills, interests, hobbies, and family traditions.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
At LMCC, we aim to create a safe, fun and learning environment where children can explore, play and interact with other children. We will offer full-time, part-time, and extended care as well as a summer camp program. An on-site chef and a full meal program will also be provided.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
LMCC will be open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Full daycare will run from 9am to 5pm and extended care will run from 7am to 9am and 5pm to 6pm. LMCC will be closed on the weekends and statutory holidays, the last two weeks in August, and between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
FACILITIES:
Our facilities will boast an art and dramatic play area, a block and construction room, sensorial play space, and two beautiful outdoor play areas including a jungle gym and sandbox.
FOOD PROGRAM:
A key component of the LMCC is our Food Program. Our on-site chef will prepare nutritious kid-friendly meals and snacks, including breakfast, lunch and a morning and afternoon snack. |
