~About Little Indigos Childcare~
Our days start with circle time where we talk about the weather, the day/month, exciting activities for the day and any news that our friends have to share. Our days include a variety of activities such as outdoor play, story/themed circle time, dance and music, arts and crafts, free play, dramatic play and many more fun activities.
At Little Indigos, we initiate an early learning program that includes numbers, shapes, letters, and phonics (depending on age). Kindergarten and preschoolers will be supported in any current learning activities they bring home from school.
We service Johnson St. Public School, so we leave the house at 8:25 am and again for pick up at 2:55.
Our daycare is proud to be:

- Vegan & Vegetarian friendly (other special diets can also be accommodated)
- Eco-friendly: we use only environmentally friendly, non-toxic cleaners and soaps
We also use baby-signing for early communication!
Our daycare features a bright playroom with different play/learning centres, as well as a large space of our main floor kitchen and dining area which is where we all share meals and snacks and do crafts together!
Age-appropriate toys are available for ages 1-10 and we have a computer available with many educational games and activities for all ages that can be used during free-play time.
~Meals~
Our snacks and meals are all very nutritious and include as many colours as possible! We use only whole grain bread and pasta, brown rice, and include a variety of non-meat proteins throughout the week such as beans and tofu. All meats and eggs are organic and hormone/antibiotic free. Organic produce is always served when available and in season.
Morning and afternoon snack are served as well as freshly prepared lunch.
~Sleep-time~
All children have a rest period between 12:00-2:30 pm. Infants have their own playpen in separate rooms upstairs (separate monitor for each child) and toddlers/preschoolers who are still napping are provided child-sized cots and a quiet, relaxing environment for sleep. Any child not napping or who wakes up can participate in a quiet, individual activity such as reading books, colouring etc.
~Outdoor Play~
We try to have at least one block of time outside every day. Obviously this time will vary due to weather, but fresh air makes everyone feel good! Our backyard is huge and fully fenced with a cedar playset, lots of lush grass for running around, kid sized pools, big climbing cubes, a play house, water table, sand box, picnic tables, and more!
