Welcome to Shining Stars Child Care

Hello, my name is Ashley and I am a mother of two boys, ages 5 and almost 2. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator, with over 12 years of experience in child care. I am certified in First Aid/CRP-C, WHMIS and have a criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
I left my position at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board in the full day Kindergarten program to pursue my dream of having a home child care and staying home with my own boys while they are young.
I currently have one part time spot available (No Thursdays) from February 18th - June 28th. I can accommodate for a full day ($40), a half day (Kindergarten) ($35), or after school care ($15). Both the St. Theresa and the Avalon buses go down my street after school, and the Avalon bus stops at my driveway at 10:40 am, after morning Kindergarten.
I provide a safe and fun atmosphere for your children, in my smoke-free home. We have outdoor play every afternoon (weather permitting), taking advantage of my fenced in yard and the several parks in our neighbourhood, one being across the street. I provide a 4 week rotating menu of hot, healthy lunches as well as morning and afternoon snacks.
My daycare consists of many age appropriate activities both indoor and outdoor including: calendar, circle, story times, music and movement, crafts, science experiments, math manipulatives, imaginative/dress up play, basic French learning, baking, walks, picnics, field trips and occasional educational movies.
Our family also includes a 6 year old Golden Retriever, named Jackson. He loves EVERYONE (especially if you give him attention). Jackson is friendly with all animals and all people! He will likely greet you at the door but will be kept out of the daycare during the day, only because he takes up far too much of our floor space when he lounges around!

I currently have 6 families enrolled in my care, with a total of 9 children (plus my own two). I work with the families to accommodate their part time schedules, ensuring that I am never going over in numbers. I have odd days and schedules open to allow for more children, so please contact me to discuss if your part time schedule would work with ours. **No Thursdays available** |
