Day Care Experience and Philosophy:
I have fourteen years experience in home daycare, it is not a temporary situation therefore you can be assured that your child will be in a stable environment. Through these past fourteen years, I have found that my passion is in providing for children of the pre-school and kindergarten age. Each and every child in my daycare is treated as one of the family. My own children are 14 and 16 and are not a factor during the day in the time and energy that I have available to the children in my daycare. I structure the activities in my daycare around the current needs of the children in my care (crafts, story time, song & dance, outings, playgroups, etc…). We go outside every day, unless the weather is bad. We currently attend a playgroup every Tuesday run by the Barrhaven Child Care Providers at the United Church on Jockvale.
Discipline:
I do not believe in discipline for children under the age of 2 years. I believe that improper actions are to be corrected and good behaviour is to be praised. After a child is 2 years old and understands, I discipline through correction of behaviour, time outs and loss of privileges.
Meals:
I serve homemade lunches and two snacks each day. All meals and snacks are well balanced. I encourage children to eat a variety of foods and have been very successful avoiding picking eaters.

I have had experience dealing with egg and peanut allergies in my daycare. These allergies can be easily accomodated for. |

I have a 2 year old female pug as part of the family. She loves children and has been with them since she was a puppy. Must be okay with a dog in the house.
I also attend playgroups and outings that require me to drive the children. Must be comfortable with this, the children benefit so much from these outings. |
