Description

I want to open 3 childcare spots in Island Lakes, close to the Island Lakes Community School. Tentative hours are M-F 730am-5pm, however, this may change depending on your needs. I will charge $30/day and will require a 2 week deposit. Half-days may be available for $20/day. I look forward to providing an important service to my family and community. Although I am not licensed I am experienced, committed, and passionate.

I am certified in first aid and CPR. My criminal record check, including vulnerable sector, is clear. In 2006 I earned my B.Arts degree with honours in Psychology.

I have been fortunate to live with my 2.5 year old nephew and have been closely involved with his care. My work experience includes working as an educational assistant in a K-1 class. I worked one-on-one with a child with speech-and-language delay and supervised up to 20 kids at a time.

I led a reading program at a small-town library. I planned and conducted the class and supervised 2-14 kids.

For the past year I have been working with a child with autism. I work one-on-one with him at home and accompany him to pre-school where I teach him how to interact with other children, follow classroom routines, play appropriately with toys, do work, and have fun. I enjoy my job but it is not the perfect career for me. I have wanted to run my own childcare for a few years now and finally have an opportunity to do so.

Our home offers lots of toys and space to play. A fenced backyard with play structure. There is more outdoor space in the front yard and we are located on a safe and quiet street. We will have fun singing, reading, doing crafts, cooking/baking, and learning about everything. The cats and dog will teach your child how to take care of our furry friends and the fish will teach them how to count moving objects. Healthy snacks will be provided, lunch is negotiable.

Peanut butter is a staple for my family so I cannot provide a peanut-free environment.

I would like to start this new child care as of April 2nd with 3 children over the age of 18 months. Please call or email me to arrange a meeting, I look forward to discussing your child care needs with you.
