I am blessed to be the mother of 5. (ages 6yrs-16yrs)
I am a bilingual (English and French) Ontario Certified Teacher with an Honours Degree in Communication and a Bachelor of Education.
I have enjoyed running a successful home daycare for all ages since 1999.
Come Play with Us!
I strongly believe in the benefits of learning through play. Every moment is a teachable moment. Young children need time to explore their ever-changing world. Through free play, children learn to use their imaginations, to get along with their peers, to build connections and friendships, to teach younger children and to learn from older children. They learn to problem-solve, to create and to build. They learn respect for themselves, others and the things in their world. We do some structured activities and spend a lot of time in outdoor play and imaginative play.
We spend a lot of time outside, either in the sunny front yard doing chalk and bubbles, or playing basketball or road hockey in the cul-de-sac or in the shady backyard on our giant playstructure (slide, climbing wall, rope ladder, swings, etc.) or in the sandbox. We take walks to the mailbox or the park to play soccer or flag football. On rainy days we spend time in the dowstairs playroom with mini-sticks, trio blocks, play kitchen gear and dress up clothes or upstairs in the kitchen/living room/family room doing crafts, baking, play doh, Thomas trains or Lego. When we need some relaxing activities, the books, puzzles, board games and learning activities come out.

We have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who loves children. She mostly keeps to herself and sleeps a lot, now that she is in her "golden years".
We are a non-smoking home.
Full-day care (7am-5pm) available 3 days/week ~ Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays. ($50/day)
Perfect for parents who work 3 days/week or who run a home business and require care only 3 days/week.
Also ideal for Grandparents who care for their grandchildren and would like a few days a week to pursue their own interests. |
