I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator. My daycare has been open for over 6 years. I currently have two full time spaces available for children 12months +. (One available now and one available in May)
As well as one full time space for a child age 2-4 years.
My qualifications include: RECE, Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Criminal Reference Check, CPR/First aid, Respite Care Certificate, Beginner French Diploma, E.L.E.C.T certificate (Early Learning every child today) and ESSO Math certificate.
I have over 11 years of experience with children ages 0-12 years old. This includes, volunteering in school for a JK/SK Room, College placements for the Early Childhood Education program, a Toddler teacher, and a live out Nanny. I have also worked one on one with special needs children. (Ages 10 & 12)
I offer a 4 week menu plan that is rotated, including; 2 healthy snacks and lunch. I do speak some French and have had French children in the past. My son will be 2 in May and is learning both languages as we are a bilingual home.
I run our day based on our daily schedule so it is easier for the children to transition and adapt. I plan activities based on the interest of the children. We have outdoor play daily, activity centres such as the reading centre, puzzle time, block area, gross motor (tent and ball pit), circle/story time, arts and crafts, sensory bins, yoga, baking, and many more activities within our schedule. My toys are disinfected daily, and rotated weekly.
We have small group time, as well as large group, this way the children who do not wish to take part in an activity are not forced to, and can have their own quiet time to explore and learn.
I offer an open ended concept, rather than structured/theme based. It is important for children to develop as individuals and feel pride in their personal work.
My strengths include; guidance techniques, program planning, keeping the children happy and offering a safe and healthy atmosphere. I believe children learn best through their own play based experiences.
I have a fully fenced in secure backyard with climbers, a sandbox, gross motor toys; bikes, scooter, push cars, water table, sprinkler in the summer, bubbles and more! We generally spend 1 hour outside in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon, weather permitting. I am also located 2 minutes from a large park.

We have a small 6 year old dog, however she is not around the children or in their play space during my hours of operation. She is hypoallergenic. |
