The love of childcare made me into this profession of ECA. I started my career from a very professional institute in Toronto.
I have 2 kids, school going. I learned from my kids a lot. The work with swarming, lively children in one hand & to walk with inert, immobile children taught me more than any book.
I have the experience of 13-years of working with kids of all ages, if adding 12-years of working here in the Town of Milton.
The first impression during a start up interview with a parent always a lasting one when they observe a cleaned house, a disciplined, well behaving, & actively participating children with toys and artwork in my daycare. It is always a wonderful experience to work around with the kids & their family.
The structured base activities provided an environment to the children to improve their skills: both in motor skills to enhance the child's physical and playful side as well as cognitive (drawing shapes, making rhymes, learning colors).
Throughout the day I involve the children in a variety of different activities.The daily routine consists of circle-time in the morning, where all the children gather in a circle and together we sing songs, read and tell stories. The children get many chances in the day to play with each other in the toy room, with toys for all ages. It builds a strong relationship between the children and teaches them to share. The activities like running, cycling and sand-play in my backyard helping kids to improve their gross motor skills. Playing music, crafts and drawing( crayons, cutting and pasting) in my creative corner and activity table help to improve their fine motor skills. If the weather is nice we have a "field trip" to the park, community trail, and sometime libraries. We have nutritious and tasteful home made breakfast & lunch with no preservative according to Canada Food Chart. To have a nap I provide beds, playpens and blankets in a quiet, semi-dark comfortable room.
We are situated in Hawthorne Village near Derry Rd.,& Savoline Blvd.,(close to P.L. Robertson, Lumen Christi & Escarpment View School, Queen of Heaven)
