Children of the Earth is a a morning Kindergarten program for children aged 3-6 years, and an after-school Arts Program for 6-9 year-olds.
The Kindergarten program was created as an extension to parental care in order to nurture and sustain the consciousness of creative flow through inspired free play, arts and crafts, movement, stories, songs and music as well as communion with plants and animals through explorations of nature and light garden work. This non-academic approach supports children’s cognitive and fine motor skills as well as their healthy physical, social and emotional development.
We are located near the Rideau River, surrounded by nature (next to Claudette Cain Park in Riverside South). There is a fenced backyard with garden beds and three friendly cats. The main-floor magical playroom features puppet apron shows, watercolour painting, clay and beeswax modeling, seasonal crafts and celebrations, and baking. The program is held between 8:30 and 12:30, Monday to Thursday (snack provided). Optionally I can put your child on the early afternoon school bus (please provide lunch in this case).
I am a trained and experienced educator of children and adults. My dream is to create a space where children are nurtured in the creative flow and miracle consciousness of their birthright, and where parents through their children can regain this awareness through the healing arts and their love for the Earth. Children of the Earth was created with these in mind. |
