Our focus is PLAY. I believe that children develop and learn the most through playing.
The basement is designed with daycare children in mind. There are sections for building blocks, for dramatic play and pretend, a large chalk board on the wall and children are free to explore, have fun and be themselves.
Upstairs is where we eat and make crafts. Crafts will be done daily and taken home daily. Meals will include a morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. All will be healthy and follow the food guide.
Whenever weather permits, we will play outside (which for the most part will be daily). Our daycare is in a residential area with a 2 minute walk to a play park and our very own play equipment (with slide, swings, rock climbing wall and fort) in our back yard. Our backyard also has a water table and other activities as well as gardens where we will all participate in growing flowers and vegetables.
Each child will have a daily log book that they will take home with them to outline the activities that happened that day. It can also be used as a communication tool between myself and parents. However, I am always available to talk to parents about their child and the child care they are receiving.
