I have been providing daycare for children for the last 15 years. I am a mother of 4 aged 5 to 15 years. I believe the greatest benefit of home daycare is the flexibility it offers the children and parents. I am teacher-friendly and do not charge fees over the summer if the child is not in my care.
I do have a "typical" flow to the day including activities that foster fine/gross motor development, cognitive development, language development and emotional/social development, but the day is fluid. More or less time can be spent on an activity depending on interest level.
I am a strong believer in the power of play. I provide a happy and safe environment for the children to explore. I prefer the majority of their play to be self-directed with me as a facilitator rather than leader.
I have a playroom and a fenced yard along with three parks, a splash pad and library within walking distance. I have a smoke-free, pet-free home and I am CPR and First Aid certified.
