My name is Barb Smith RECE., a registered early childhood educator with the College of Early Childhood Education. I have over 30 years of experience teaching children. I have participated in numerous workshops and seminars over the years. Most recently, I have completed Phase I and II training through Quality Child Care Niagara. I was a director and nursery class teacher for fifteen years at a local preschool. I resigned from that position in June 2011. I am excited to be in the next chapter of my life serving children and families through home child care.
Your child will be GENTLY nurtured and guided while in my care. Together we will discover the wonders of nature, music and art in a safe and trusting environment. The joy of learning will be fostered through a HANDS on approach with a large variety of instruments, toys, art mediums and science experiences.
Social skills will be encouraged with a loving and positive approach using the teachable moments that will arise every day. Speech and language skills will be enhanced throughout the day and within the entire Christian program. Bible stories and crafts will be incorporated into the various themes. A variety of Christian songs will be sung and we will view some Christian videos. We will say a prayer before snacks and lunch.
Admission conditions
AGES OF CHILDREN: 2 ½ to 7 years.
DAYS AND HOURS OF OPERATION:
Care is provided 46 weeks each year.
a) 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
b) Before and after hours options; 8:00-8:30 a.m. and 4:30-5:00 p.m.
