My name is Skye and I am the lucky mommy of a spirited five year old who is full of life and joy. It has always been my goal to stay home with my little one while opening my home to other families who share my vision.
My background is in Early Childhood Education and I received my Early Childhood Education Certificate at Mount Royal College. I also have current childcare first aid certification. I have worked as a caregiver in daycare centers, as a preschool teacher, in before and after school programs, and as a child development facilitator for children and families with special needs. I have taught workshops, supervised practicum students from Mount Royal College, and have a variety of specialized training pertaining to the development of young children.
I strive to provide a play based, child directed program within a reasonably structured framework that encourages independence in a nurturing environment
I run an accredited dayhome through Churchill Park Family Care Society and am able to take children who qualify for subsidy. The agency screens providers which includes police as well as child and family welfare clearance, and also conducts monthly monitoring visits. I currently have spots available for July and September.
