I have been a home daycare provider for the past 25 years. I run a smoke free environment and have no pets and no backyard pool.
I have a large backyard with 2 play structures, a sandbox and many outdoor toys. I make sure the children are outside every day, weather permitting, in both summer and winter. I feel the children start into a school environment so early in life, so I feel it very important that they have time to just be kids. On any given day, I let them decide what they would like to do, crafts, reading books, playing games or simply just playing with the toys I provide for them. We learn to share, tidy up and I run a routine with regards to snacks, meals and naps. I usually provide a time-out, either sitting on a chair or standing in the corner for naughty behavior. I ask the child to tell me why she/he has been given a time-out and ask them to apologize and hug anyone they may have been mean to. I have two grown children of my own, a 26 year old son and a 23 year old daughter. I have many references I can give you upon request. I love children, and hope to have the opportunity to care for yours. I provide nutritious snacks and lunches. If your child prefers certain types of food just let me know and I will try to do the best I can to provide it for them. |
