Welcome to Little Pumpkins Family Daycare. We are located in the beautiful Heritage Mountain area of Port Moody surrounded by lovely parks, lakes and forests. Little Pumpkins Family Daycare has been in operation for 14 years.
We offer a program that is play-focused learning, together with a low child caregiver ratio and continuity of care that is so important for attachment. We feel strongly that play is not frivolous, it is not a luxury and it is not something to fit in after completing all the important stuff (like academic focused programs that so many centers are touting). Children need play-based learning to develop a foundation for their future academics. Play is the important stuff - it feeds our intellect as much as our imagination. It builds knowledge as much as empathy. It connects neurons, and it connects ideas. At Little Pumpkins Family Daycare we are committed to allowing children to play that is child-led, active learning. Children are free to explore along a creek, pick up pine cones on a forest walk and chase butterflies, all without being rushed. Our program is based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy - respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment for children.
We also value a relationship with parents and we do our best to communicate frequently; we encourage questions pertaining to your child, offer ideas and we want parents to make suggestions at any time. Parents are kept informed of program activities, whether through daily verbal contact and a monthly newsletter containing photos of all activities. We welcome diversity, shared skills, interests and family traditions.
Little Pumpkins Family Daycare is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are closed on all statutory holidays, the month of August, a week during Christmas and Spring Break.
We offer two nutritious snacks daily. |
