Monkey & Moo Home Daycare offers gentle child care for toddlers and preschoolers aged 12 months to four years old. The focus is on learning through play with outdoor time, crafts, fun experiments, cooking, circle time, games, outings, stories, songs, and more!
I have worked with children and youth for over 15 years, including those with special needs. I completed the Child and Youth Worker program in 1997, and have worked in school, camp, and group home settings. Monkey & Moo Home Daycare was created when I realized that there was a need for more quality home day cares in my area.
I believe that every child is unique. All children have different interests, learning styles, and personalities. Because of this, there is no one size fits all approach when working with children. I enjoy learning about each child and developing activities and approaches that work best for them. Some children need to be held more. Some children like to be independent. Some children are boisterous and loud, others prefer to watch and participate in activities on their terms. Individual traits should be respected and learning and growth should come naturally with gentle support.
