My name is Karen Hellier and I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband Nick for 3 years. We welcomed our first son Bryce into our lives in July of 2012.
I am a honours graduate of Seneca College and possess my Early Childhood Education diploma and I am in good standing with College of Early Childhood Educators. I have my standard first aid and CPR which I will renew yearly and have a vulnerable sector screening completed for York Region.
I have been in the child care field for over 10 years and have various experience with all age groups of children. It has been my passion to care and work with children from a young age. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my positions when working with children and look forward to opening my home to your family. I am a strong believer that children learn through experience and they need to be given an oppourtunity to safely explore through their own curiousity. We will follow a theme based program that will include; songs, games, arts and crafts, indoor/outdoor play, theme days, field trips and outings, language arts, sensory and science activities, etc. I will create age appropriate programs for your children with the guidance of a Board Certified York Region Elementary school teacher, to ensure that your child has been given a strong beginning and is ready for the start of Kindergarten.
