The educational focus at Maple Child Care is on colours, the alphabet, numbers, sorting and matching that is based on a structured curriculum that fosters development in math, language, science, sensory, dramatic play and creative arts. Our daily circle time is comprised of action songs, finger plays, concept games, learning about weather, the calendar, and animals that are based on our special weekly themes. There is daily story time and children have access to the book shelf during quiet time and free play. Afternoons generally consist of sensory activities, working on particular crafts and/or a cooking activity where children participate in the preparation of their lunch/snack. During free time, gross motor skill development is promoted through the encouragement of dancing, climbing, running, jumping and riding.
We try to take advantage of the summer months as much as possible by conducting some of our regular scheduled activities as well as sand and water play outdoors in the backyard. We occasionally bundle up in colder weather too and head outside for some fresh air!
Being a mom, I understand that there is a considerable amount of fear and anxiety involved when choosing the appropriate care for your child and my aim is to provide care that is a continuation of what the child receives at home. I pride myself on providing a very respectful, nurturing, and supportive environment for children.
I am an experienced child care provider and stay-at-home mother of 2 who will be offering full-time, part-time and temporary childcare in my home as of January 2014.
In keeping with our high standards, Maple Child Care strictly complies with and exceeds provincial licensing regulations in accordance with the Day Nurseries Act.
I also have many years of experience in health and nutrition and only feed my children and the children I care for homemade unprocessed foods that are organically sourced whenever possible. I don't limit portions but do ensure that all meals and snacks are wholesome and nutritious while being delicious and fun to eat!
