Ontario Certified Teacher on on-going parental leave from the T.D.S.B. providing home childcare in my house for children 12 months-4 years of age.
1 part-time spot available for Summer 2015 and beyond, as well as the possibility of 1 before/after school care spot for a child attending R.H. McGregor P.S.
I have two young children of my own, and have been providing home care to other neighbourhood children for the past 4 years. Before the birth of my first child I was a Kindergarten/Core French and Special Education teacher with the Toronto District School Board.
Creative, holistic, play-based approach to early child development and learning, incorporating aspects of Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio theories and practices into our daily activities. A mixture of unstructured free play/discovery, structured sensory/learning activities, stories/songs, crafts, baking, nature walks, outdoor play and visits to local drop-in centres, library, parks and Farmer's Market fill our days. 2 homemade snacks and lunch are provided daily, focusing on using local, organic foods as much as possible.
Care is provided in my 2-storey family home with activity and play spaces available on the main level of house plus a large playroom in the basement. There is a separate sleep area for children on the upper level.
