Location:
Located in Heart lake Brampton. North of Sandalwood Prkwy, South of Conservation Rd, East of Hwy 10
I spend my days interacting with the children, through playing games we learn to count, our colours, the alphabet. I provide a stimulating environment, age appropriate activities structured to the needs of the individual child. Through play the children will nurture and grow.
Toys: too many to list, ranging from 0 months to 10 years. Example: Toy kitchen w/food and dishes, doll strollers, dolls, Lego, building blocks, trucks and cars, dinosaurs, spider/batman toys, balls, ride on toys, games, puzzels, board books, fisher Price people w/houses etc.
Equipment: high chair, booster chairs, sleeping cots, playpens, kid size tables and chairs, single strollers, and a double stroller, wagon, push car.
Where the children sleep:
Depending on age, the children will sleep on child size cots, or in a play pen in separate rooms.

Handling children's misbehaviour:
Depending on the situation, several warnings are given and the child is reminded of acceptable behaviour and re-directed to a different activity.
Next step would be a timeout. Timeout are not punishment, but rather a time that they may calm down, reflect on what behaviour is appropriate. Time outs last 1 minute for each year of age.
Activities:
- Fun educational crafts and special projects for the Holiday's and special occasions.
- paint and colouring w/crayons/markers, cutting and pasting
-puzzles, building with lego or building blocks
- Circle time: we read stories and sing songs.
- go on walks to one of the many parks nearby for free play.
- during these walks we take the time to check out / talk about the nature around us, bugs, caterpillars, butterflies, trees, the lake, ducks and geese.
All children love the outdoors, fresh air, running, playing and exploring are all important for a developing child. We go out year round, have a large fully fenced backyard, plenty of room to run; we play football, baseball, golf, soccer or ride on toys or we take sand toys and head over to one of the nearby parks, play on the swings and monkey bars, we make sand castles or go for a walk around the lake and feed the ducks and geese.
-On very hot days we play in the wading pool, sprinkler, or have water fights.
-In the winter we build snow castles, snowmen, snow forts or head for the nearest hill to go tobogganing.
What we learn:

- importance of sharing
- To be respectful of others, animals, property and the
environment.
- I teach manners, using words like Please, Thank You or Excuse Me
- Using our words. Through simple signing or verbally depending on age.
- proper time to use indoor voice and an acceptable, respectful outdoor voice
- fire safety and proper procedure to exit house just in case.
-tidying up the toys once they are finished playing
-proper table etiquette
Where the children play:
Inside: large. playroom in the basement
outside: in large fully fenced backyard, one of the many parks nearby, in the front yard or sidewalk w/ride on toys

Tots and Crayons is a family business and run as all daycare centers, days absent must be paid for at the regular fee including Stat holidays, parents vacations, child’s absenteeism for illness, for all days off.
A non-refundable deposit fee of 2 wks. daycare fees (per child) is required upon completion of registration to secure your child's placement in care. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to your first and last week’s daycare fees upon given termination notice. Spaces will not be held unless the deposit fee is paid in full.
Our Fees:
Full time: (5 days a week) $40 per day
Part time(less than 5 days per week) $45 per day
Part days 2-4 hrs $35.00 per day
