We foster the children curiosity and respect for Mother Nature during our daily exploration of forested areas and fields very close to home. We also foster a love and respect for animals.
Our pets are adorable and very kind with children: we have 3 cats, a bunny and a dog (a rough collie/Lassie).
We do spend a fair amount of time outside each day and all year around. Although we sometimes do go to parks that include children play structures, we prefer exploring the natural world and play respectfully with each other and with the treasures we find in nature.
We are surrounded by such natural beautiful places and we do take advantage of them: the Pond and its sandy beach, MacKay lake and the forest around it, the path along the Ottawa river, the RCMP stables where we go and visit the horses, the grounds around the RCMP college and the NCC fields between Birch and Hillsdale Rd, Anthony-Vincent park across from the daycare, the beautiful nearby streets in Manor Park and in the village of Rockliffe Park, Manor Park Park near the community center with its children play structures and splash pad, etc...
Of course, we adapt our daily outdoor activities to the children and to the weather. |
