Andy & Friends Dayhome in Sherwood Park (Foxhaven)
At Andy & Friends Dayhome I strive to provide quality care in all areas of child care. Our approach is “learning through play” in a secure, fun loving and stimulating environment where children’s diversity and individual differences are recognized and respected. I support and encourage children's emotional, social, cognitive and physical growth and development by understanding their unique needs and personalities.
I offer a clean safe smoke free day home. A place for your children to learn and play,laugh and grow. I run a structural but flexible day home with lots of age appropriate toys. In my day home I teach life skills such as hand washing, manners and interacting and sharing with other children. I help them with early learning, including letters, months, numbers and a variety of monthly themes. Our days consist of fun activities such as crafts coloring,and singing nursery rhymes, along with our A,BC's and our numbers. puzzles,finger painting, dancing.
I have gone through a screening process with the Strathcona County & Leduc dayhome agency to ensure that every thing is in proper order for operating a dayhome. This includes:
1) I Possess Current Criminal Record Check/Welfare Check
2) Child's First Aid Certificate & Child CPR all up to date
3) Level 3 in Child Development for Children Certificate
4 ) Assessed Suitable for working with children by a Home Safety Check
I offer home made hot meals, am snack, lunch and pm snacks ,with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables & dip each day. (Menu on website)

Andy & Friends has two hypoallergenic puppy dog friends as well. A bichon frise and a shih tzu, Dolly & Domino. They are up to date on all their shots & immunizations and are always kept in the basement or backyard during decent weather. Baby gates are installed in the basement & on the main floor, so our puppy friends do not come upstairs to play. Toys and everything belonging to the children/dayhome are away from the puppies. Dolly & Domino may join us on occasional walks during the day. Most often, they are walked in the evenings after closing. |
