I have been providing childcare for 23 years, raising my children for 35yrs and am insured, have a police check for both my husband and myself. I will only care for a maximum of 5 children. Also I am certified in both CPR and First Aid.
We have a busy and full day here in my daycare. My childcare center is on the main floor of my home at the front of the house and is only used for the daycare. It is filled with toys, books, puzzles and decorated by the crafts the children do. Weather permitting, we are outside everyday walking to the duck pond or heading to one of several local parks in this neighbourhood and twice a week, we are off to the local drop-in center where the children develop even more friendships.
I consider what I do to be a fulltime job and thus devote the time that you the parents are paying for. I started a daycare all those years ago because I didn't want to leave my children, yet I still needed an income. My children have since grown and moved out but I can not see myself doing anything but childcare. I suppose I could go get a job in a childcare center but its my humble opinion that home childcare provides a warm and loving environment and in the right home it can still be an educational experience.
If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
