Montessori Toddler Home is the first Toddler program in the area that applies Montessori philosophy to provide a positive, loving and nurturing environment that supports your child on their natural path of development.
We strive to provide the "perfect place for toddlers" while parents take care of necessary business, or just take "a breather". At Montessori Home your toddler is well cared for, with healthy food, having fun with friends, and busy learning. Their time at "school" is valuable and stimulating, a time for exploration & discovery.
In keeping with Montessori theory and tradition for this age group our focus is on:
* the development and refinement of language through a variety of language materials;
* the development and refinement of movement, both gross-motor and fine-motor;
* the Practical life activities involving care of the self, such as hand washing, dressing, independence in toileting, food preparation, self-feeding etc.;
* Practical life activities involving care of the environment, such as setting and clearing the table, wiping the table, sweeping, dusting, caring for plants, etc.
* Your child will have the opportunity to play outdoors daily, weather permitting.
We hope to attract a group of "like minded" families, willing to follow 3 simple guidelines:
1) Good nutrition: (avoiding sugary & fast foods)
2) Real life experiences: (i.e. zoo, park, gardening, cooking, reading books, art, music, independent play, etc... avoiding or minimizing TV & video time)
3) Insert some daily calm & focused activities into your toddler's home life
* Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
* Healthy snacks are provided.
* Pet-free and smoke-free. |
