My name is Kara and I am the mother of 3 beautiful children 12, 6, and 18 months. I have been working at the Oshawa Community Health Centre for nearly 7 years, during which time I taught preschool, a parent and child educational program, as well as a literacy program for children. When the time came to return to work when my youngest was 5 months, finding a quality, educational and loving childcare environment was a huge challenge for me. I realized that other parents must be facing this same difficulty and this was something I could and wanted to provide for others.
This is the place that your child can thrive, grow and meet their full potential! Children learn through play and fun, new experiences. We focus on fun, hands on activities that enhance all areas of growth. We regularly attend Early Years Programs, trips to the zoo and local farms, picnics at the park, daily walks, and library programs. We have a large, bright and friendly newly renovated space, that is filled with stimulating books, puzzles, and educational toys. Our amazing backyard gives us an opportunity to learn about the world we live in such as seasonal changes, respect for the environment, insects and animal habitats. Daily activities include crafts, playdough, rhymes, stories, songs, and circle time. These experiences will help your child learn social skills such as sharing and taking turns as well as improving their language and communication skills.
With my approach children are having so much fun, that they don’t realize they are learning.
