My DAYHOME is a dayhome and not a PRE-SCHOOL. I will not force the kids to do crafts or learn their ABC's if they do not want to. I want my dayhome to be a place where the kids, will feel closer to home and just enjoy their childhood. After all, there is no repeat of this episode in their lives. They will only be YOUNG once. Never again.
However, I also believe in the idea of LEARNING THROUGH PLAY. I know that kids learn faster and better when they are not forced to learn, instead, they tend to learn more when they DO SOMETHING that they like and interests them. In my dayhome, I have blocks, puzzles and books that will help me achieve my goal of teaching them through play.
