I am Grandmother of 5. For the last 20 years, daycare I have provided has been for the grandkids, sometimes other part time jobs after hours. I drove school bus van or wheelchair bus for Laidlaw for 20 years, naturally gravitating toward young people, but do have some p/t experience in sales and medical office reception. I have worked as companion to seniors, but can't seem to get away from my love for nurturing, teaching - & being taught by, and laughing with the little ones. My youngest grandson is now 2, needs a sitter on a p/t basis, and I would love to be able to stay home again with him in a family like setting with a couple of other young people about his age, as this is the beginning of the socially active interaction stage. While the TV is often on, PLAY is encouraged over it, with me being involved about 75% of the time. I consider outdoor time just as important as indoor, serve nutritious meals and snacks, and feel learning through play is how children are most receptive. If you have a little one 18 months to 3 years of age, and think this is where you might like to have him/her looked after while you have to be at work, please give a call so we can chat. |
