Bright, main level, family-based home daycare. Fenced backyard and quick access to a large fenced field on private property.
Experienced caregiver with certification in National Family Child Care Training Level 1 & 2, Resiliency Training / Reaching in Reaching Out, First Aid and CPR Training, as well as a Police Records, Check with the Vulnerable Sector.
Our daycare spends lots of time outdoors, exploring the parks, fields and play areas in our community. We go out in the rain too! We love a good puddle hunt, and enjoy building snow forts and sliding in the winter. We spend as much of our days as we can outdoors enjoying nature, searching for bugs, identifying birds, blowing bubbles and colouring with chalk.
When we are inside, we enjoy playing with our homemade playdough that we make together. Colouring, painting, working on puzzles and many other tabletop activities. We have a large sensory bin that we fill depending on the children's interest at the time, they love water and scoops, oatmeal and trucks, and pom-poms and play eggshells. We often bake together making muffins or cookies.
The meal plan is posted daily and is based on Canada's food guide. We have home-cooked meals every day with loads of fresh fruit and vegetables. We have a vegetable garden out front as well one at the community garden that the children plant, maintain and harvest from.
I welcome cloth diapers. I use basic ASL in our home as well as basic French. I have a Pre-K readiness program for the older child and a fun infant program. I use the ELECT document Early Learning for Every Child today to complement our program.
We have free play each day, as well as circle time that includes rhymes and signing. each child has their restroom available with a pack and play or bed depending on age.
