Raincoast Childcare Centre is committed to providing families of the North Shore quality childcare. The centre will provide families with a high standard of care, emphasizing collaboration and outdoor play. Raincoast Childcare Centre values children as individuals and supports their natural desire to learn.
Raincoast Childcare Centre believes that children are capable, individual learners with their own ideas and interests. We believe that children naturally want to learn, explore and construct knowledge about the world around them. For the curriculum to be meaningful to the children we believe that it must stem from their own interests, as such the classroom has been designed to offer children a variety of experiences that reflect their interests and challenge them; we believe that this is an important part of encouraging the children's learning.
At RCC we emphasize collaboration encouraging the children to work together to explore what interests them, naturally challenging each other as they go. To foster this collaborative environment we think that it is important for the children to form relationships with people as well as materials and their environment; our classroom reflects this offering many opportunities to interact with each other as well as with the materials.
Children will be supported by positive encouragement and a safe environment, as we believe that this will support their learning.
At RCC we try to reflect the natural outdoor environment in our materials and classroom.
