A Little about Littles...
Hello! I'm Dani Lindsay, the owner of Little Green Sprouts Day Care. I am the mother of an amazing “not quite one year old” Little (Baebins) and wife of a fantastic guy (Daddio). Since the birth of Baebins, Daddio and I have had many long conversations, and we have decided that for our family, it would be best if I not return to my job at London Health Sciences Centre, and instead, open up our home to help care for your Littles! .
We live about five minutes from the Victoria Campus of LHSC, making us very convenient for anyone working there. It can be very difficult to find child care on weekends or after 5pm, so Little Green Sprouts is willing to work with your schedule. Our back yard is fenced, (with some great projects planned for the spring to make it more fun for the Littles!), and we are very short walk from Glen Cairn Arena/Pool which offers us LOTS of green space to enjoy! We are a pet friendly home, with two dogs (Potter and Baxter) as well as two cats (Beardsley and Zarbouf). Did you know studies show that Littles that grow up with dogs and cats have fewer colds, ear infections and respiratory infections?
Beginning mid May 2014, Little Green Sprouts Home Day Care will be opening! At Little Green Sprouts, I will provide:
A safe environment: In order to reduce exposure to chemicals, all cleaning products are naturally based (vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda, etc.) Most toys are wooden, and I try to avoid plastics wherever possible. The food prepared at my home is organic. Some food may not be certified, but in these situations, food will be “spray free”, “non gmo”, etc. I take my food very seriously!
A nurturing environment: Part of a child's self esteem comes from feeling competent and skilled at something they enjoy. By creating opportunities for children to explore different objects, activities, and people (and nurturing those interests), I want to help your child to be successful and feel good about themselves.
A play-based learning environment: Playing is a kid's job. Play teaches kids how to problem solve, how to make friends, how to express themselves, how to enjoy the world around them, and how to recognize letters and numbers. All of these skills form the foundation of a love of learning. At Little Green Sprouts, play will be structured to create learning moments. While children play, they’ll chat with their friends, and figure out how to stop their block tower from falling. They'll draw pictures and role play. And they'll tell stories, and sit quietly to listen to others. All of these activities help kids develop, learn, and acquire the skills that they will need.

We do have two resident canines, (Potter and Baxter) as well as two feline friends (Beardsley and Zarbouf), so if your child has allergies, or an aversion to pets, Little Green Sprouts might not be the best fit. |
