Hi, my name is Amanda I graduated from Georgian College in 2007, with my ECE, I have worked as an EA teacher in the Wellington Catholic board and have run a toddler program for My Pre Academy (a private school in my hometown.) I have decided to be a stay at home mom of my two kids, aged 1 1/2 and 5 1/2. In the last 5 years I've run a home based daycare and just the last two years started taking children back and forth to school.
I have a Criminal Ref Check, my First aid and CPR.
My son is currently in SK in the french immersion program. We walk back and forth to the school, (we're about a 12 minute walk from the school.)
Before school we go a bit earlier so the children can play before school. Depending on your mornings, I do offer the children a snack before school and sometimes breakfast. I understand mornings are hectic and sometimes it's hard to get breakfast into your child before you have to drop him/her off at daycare.
After school we stay at the school, or one of the parks in the area. We have a snack usually a fruit & grain and play at the park.
Due to inclement weather in the winter months we don't stay outside as long, but we do toboggan, build snowman and snow forts. When we are cold we head inside to play games, charades is a big hit at the moment with the SK's and Grade 1's. Crafting is a staple in our house, there is always glitter on the floor and usually glue on our hands. The kids great love right now is perler beads and the rainbow loom.
