Little Gems Daycare has been providing quality child care since 1997 in the St. Boniface area. We have just recently relocated to the south east end of Winnipeg to Sage Creek! Little Gems is a small private home based centre with 4 full time spaces for ages 12 mos. - 5 yrs. including Kindergarten students who need morning or afternoon care.
I am a certified ECE with over 14 yrs experience in the child care field. I also have Infant First Aid /CPR training and have completed both Criminal and Child Abuse Registry checks.
Our daily schedule consists of structured preschool programming in the mornings with plenty of outdoor/free play in the afternoons. I choose to operate the daycare centre much like a Nursery school where children can learn not only from free play and socialization, but also through structured activities. The age appropriate activities focus on recognizing basic shapes, colors, numbers and letters through songs, finger plays and stories as well as developing their fine motor skills with "hands on" types of tasks. The daycare also provides a healthy lunch/milk as well as 2 mid day snacks daily.
