I am a mother of 3 teenagers and I have been doing before and after school care for 3 years. The 2 children I currently have in my care are "graduating", as they are old enough to stay home by themselves. I would bring your children to Gateway Drive PS (or have them walked by my 13 year old daughter), depending on your children's age. On the way home I would stop at the park (weather permitting), or have the children play outdoors in my backyard or on my driveway. I will serve them a healthy snack and they can play indoors in my living room or basement, do a craft or start on their homework. We watch very little TV, but limited use of the computer would be possible.
I work for the Ontario Early Years Centre every morning, planning for and facilitating/ assisting in programs for parents and children. Through this work I receive inspiration, ideas and updates about current best practices and resources, which I can pass on to your children, as well as to you!
I am CPR/ First Aid certified.
