I am a 29-year-old mother of one who has made the decision to leave her job and open up her own home daycare in order to spend time with her little one and fulfill her dream of working with children. I grew up babysitting almost every day and have always toyed with the idea of turning it into a career one day. Well, I'm finally taking that leap!
I am a big believer in free play. There is nothing more magical than a child's imagination set free! At my daycare, your child will play make believe, sing songs, read stories, and do plenty of crafts! (I'm a Pinterest addict, I will admit!) We will also get outside to play every chance we get.
I want you to feel assured that I will care for and nurture your child as if they were my own. Each week I will send you home with a menu of what I plan to cook the following week for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. If there are any allergies or aversions, I will gladly accommodate. I will also send home weekly journals letting you know what your child is up to while you are at work, and how they are doing each day.
Prior to attending my daycare, I will have parents fill out a questionnaire so that I can understand where your child is in his or her development, favorite foods, nap routine, etc. The more information I receive, the better I will be able to help your child transition.
Patient by nature, I prefer positive reinforcement as a means of learning. Time outs will be a last resort.
I have scheduled my First Aid and CPR training for early summer so I will have those certificates on hand as well as references available upon request.
I charge $40/day and am open 7am-5pm Monday-Friday. If you need to negotiate an earlier drop off or later pick up, we will be flexible as long as it isn't an every day thing. I will ask that you provide diapers and wipes for your child, but I will provide breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks per day, with milk during meal times.
