Daycare Curriculum
Our curriculum at Natalie's Yoga and Well-being in collaboration with Southwind Childcare & Learning Centre is centered around - Early Childhood Curriculum, which is designed to cover children's key "learning through play" experiences while at our centre. Your child's learning experience will add to his or her set of skills as important stepping stones for the future and is based on the following principles:
• Empowerment- enabling the child to learn and grow by understanding themselves and the world in which they live, help them to love and accept themselves unconditionally.
• Holistic development- seeing the child as whole and encompassing all aspects of their development -nuturing the mental, physical, emotional and spiritiual aspects of your child ( spirituallity will be taught in context relationship to each child;s family religious or spiritiual beliefs) we will also teach and understanding, respect and acceptance of others and their belief systems...unity in diversity...not uniformity
• Family and community- the wider world of family as an integral part of the early childhood Curriculum. We will have some trips to theatre productions, music direction, zoo and other educational places as well as to explore the natural world in which they co-habitate with the rest of creation.
• Our Childcare programme ensures that our daycare course planning reflects individual learning outcomes for all children. Children are provided with the appropriate equipment and resources to bolster their individual learning. The programme planning will allow for children to develop literacy and numeracy skills which will support children's understanding of context through their physical surroundings, the emotional context, their relationship with others, and the child's immediate needs at any one time throughout the daily environment.
Learning and development will be integrated where context for the child has meaning and teaching strategies are used where cognitive, social, cultural, physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of human development are interwoven within all areas of the curriculum
