Welcome to the Children's Garden, its lovely to meet you. My name is Andrea and I am a certified and Registered Early Childhood Educator with seven years of experience. I now happily stay at home with my son who inspires me each and every day and reminds me of the importance of quality early childhood education.
I offer a Reggio-inspired home childcare program for children 2 to 6 years of age. I have combined my experience working both in licensed childcare centres as well as for the School Board in a Full-Day Kindergarten classroom to provide an emergent, nurturing and safe environment for your child.
The core program runs from 8:00am to 4:30pm. An extended day is available from 7:00am to 5:15pm for an additional fee.
I believe that proper nutrition and healthy development go hand-in-hand. All meals served at TCG are freshly made by myself, organic and in-season as much as possible.
In addition to the program, your child will have the opportunity to participate in various outings around the village. Frequent trips to the park, library, playgroups, the Farmer's Market and the public pool are incorporated into the weekly schedule.
Music and movement as well as creative and sensory exploration are a big part of our day. Children are tactile learners by nature so your child will have the opportunity to explore, using Reggio materials in a very well-equipped and beautiful environment, tailored to their interests.
As an educator, my role is to guide and support your child through their own learning. The Children's Garden is a child-centred curriculum meaning that there are no pre-determined themes. The learning that occurs is raw, natural, spontaneous and tangible to your child. I will help expand your child's knowledge base by supporting his/her interests.
A Kindergarten readiness program is available to children who will be attending school in the upcoming school year.

Please note that I have a friendly cat in the home. She adores being outside the majority of the time and is fantastic and loving around children.
