The Willow Tree Home Daycare is looking for a full-time munchkin to join our family.
At the Willow Tree your child will be welcomed by a great group of children ranging in ages from 24months to 3 years of age. Each day we follow a routine that provides consistency but allows for some flexibility depending on the mood of the group that particular day. We believe in a play based learning philosophy and our monthly themes are usually encouraged by the group’s interest.
Our indoor activities include a monthly themed playroom that encourages dramatic play. We also have an indoor sandbox, indoor slide for the winter, train table, trampoline, dress up area, kitchen, felt board, sensory bin, an aquarium, a large variety of musical instruments, puzzles and a reading corner.
During the school year we have circle time where we concentrate on the daily weather, our weekly themed story, songs, A,B,C’s ’s and 1,2,3’s, our name recognition and colours .We complete all areas of school readiness. We enjoy baking, creating art work, having impromptu dance parties and writing and making pictures to our pen pal in Italy.
Our outdoor activities feature a child trampoline, music wall, swing set, children’s pool, two sandboxes, water table, sensory bin, and numerous ride on toys. This summer we have created a garden to teach farm to table eating.
We encourage independent skills such as brushing our teeth, trying to put on our coats and shoes, and toilet training when each child is ready. This fall we will be attending a play group when numbers and weather permits. We make a daily trip to the bus stop in our favourite four seater buggy to drop off one of our friends. Parents can check in on our Facebook site for the daily menu and pictures of the day’s adventures.
I allow for a two week paid trial basis for your child and our group to become acquainted before committing to a contract. I have 17 years experience in the social service and education field and have currently been running my daycare for a year. I have a current CPIC and am CPR/First Aid trained.
