Hello my name is Melanie.
I'm located in beautiful Bloorcourt Village. Gladstone Avenue is a quiet, respectful, tree-lined, clean street in close walking distance to a public library, catholic and public schools, churches, community centres/clubs, parks, and an organic farmer's market.
I have had the honour and privilege of making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families since 2008. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator and a mother of a 3 year old.
My newly renovated Daycare room, located on the main floor is a clean, bright area with a lot of natural light. I will provide many opportunities for children to play and learn, with a focus on practical life. The room is outfitted with the following stations: reading, dramatic, constructive and creative.
I am dedicated to stimulating children's cognitive, emotional, social and physical development. Children in my care will be given an opportunity to grow and learn in a nurturing and loving family- like setting, interacting with other children. Children will be encouraged to practice fine and gross motor skills, communicate verbally and use their creativity and imagination through play.
Daily activities will be age appropriate and altered accordingly to accommodate children's individual developmental stages.
We go outside everyday, weather permitting. The backyard is a fully decked and securely enclosed area where the children can play in the playhouse, water table and sandbox.
Healthy lunches and snacks, including seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as home baked goods are provided.
