I have over a decade of experience caring for children ranging from infants through school age. I spent many years in a professional childcare setting, and recently decided to begin a new adventure by starting a childcare centre in my home.
I believe children learn best through play, and that getting dirty is a part of childhood - one of the best parts! I create age-appropriate, weekly plans based around a variety of themes including seasons, current events and holidays, and the children's own interests.
I work together with my cousin Meagan:
Hi! I'm Meagan,
For the last 7 years I have worked at a daycare center in Burlington where I was responsible for many different age groups, ranging from 3 month old babies to school age children! I love spending time with the kids reading stories, making crafts and playing games. I have also spent many years working in the kitchen at the daycare and have created a variety of delicious and healthy lunches and snacks.
I graduated from the Visual Merchandising Arts program at Sheridan College, but decided to give Childcare a try!
In my spare time I love going to baseball games, camping with my family and laying on a beach somewhere warm! I hope to one day have the chance to travel the world and experience many
different countries and cultures.
Katie has a small dog (Lucy) and two cats (Maia & Sawyer) - all are very friendly. Lucy will spend majority of time up or downstairs while children are in our care - since she can get very excited when there's a lot going on. Maia & Sawyer tend to visit and then hide when they have had enough. Sawyer loves to spend time with the children, and will join in their games if they'll let him!
If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
